On the last day in Beijing, I went to visit this exhibition. It was a weekday and visitors were not so many. Despite a countable number of visitors, I found the exhibition a bit crowded partly because the inside area was not very big and partly because there were two to three queues for the highlight works from the great master painters such as Raphael and Bellini. I was very impressed by the orderly queues for close viewing. I didn’t queue any of them because it would take me 20 mins waiting given that 20 waiting people would take up 20 minutes, 1 minute each. Again not many works but the exhibition touched many significant artists of that era. I’d advise you to rent an audio guide which automatically connects the recording when you stand before the caption area, quite a new design!! Worth a short visit! You wouldn’t feel overwhelmed by information and might feel delighted by a taste of different artists of the famous Italian Renaissance!! Don’t go on weekends if possible.
